![]() ![]() StamDK tank is insanely hard to put down, but stamDK DPS is honestly the squishiest in the game. It's not that you don't have defensive class options, it's moreso that the class itself tends to rely on a higher health pool for those options to perform well. Obsidian shield is ineffective with low max HP. Vigor is something all stamDPS have access to as well. I get this, but Bone Shield isn't very efficient as it burns a lot of stamina and is a %HP shield, which is not particularly effective on a DPS, and all stamDPS have access to it. There are certainly people that can handle this kind of thing, but for me I'm just not solid enough on avoiding non-lethal damage to do it without siphons/barriers. I have no problem avoiding a lethal hit, I have problems recovering from non-lethal ones (I'm really looking forward to Summerset 2-hand changes). ![]() For that same reason, magblade is ezmode for me (at staying alive, I'm garbage at the rotation - this is why I can do vMA with literally 14k DPS), since I can consistently mitigate nearly all incoming damage with barriers, and just siphon back whatever I've lost.įor me, as a stamDK I run a 2-hander, meaning that my only defensive option is Rally, which works better for me than blade cloak. This means that I personally rely on my ability to recover from nonlethal damage, which a stamDK is very poor on. I'm very very good at blocking and mitigating damage, but not avoiding it as a stamDPS. ![]() However, I'm also used to blocking and using barriers, then recovering from attacks instead of outright dodging them. It just so happens that I main tank and healer, so I'm not well acquainted with how to DPS properly, but mechanics are second nature. Some people can handle that, I can't.Īlso, I've put a metric crapton of hours into this game. I will say under 15k is very, very dangerous if you're not running a barriersorc. I just offer people food if they're under 17k as a courtesy. I’m just trying to let people know that there are plenty of ways to play this game and a viable build is viable whether or not someone else hasn’t been able to do it themselves. I know I sound like a pretentious dick with too much time in the game but if I am I am. but for the people who have, we have run these dungeons so often that mechanics are second nature. I get you can’t drop 2k+ hours on the game your busy or you just started etc. It’s just infuriating to me that people will attack someone that says 16k is viable in end game content but they have like 100 hours in the game. But yet we turn around and complain about being kicked out of vDLC dungeons because we’re too low CP. But to judge a player prior to seeing how well they play is a double standard everyone in this sub does myself included. I know you’re not saying it’s not possible. Those guys had just as good self sustain as me and hit harder than me with 16.4k health. All I know is that they are top 3 dps in the game at the moment for PvE. ![]() I ran HM vetRuinsofMazzatun with a tank and three dps. There are different levels of skill in this game and some people can play the hardest content maximizing dps by reducing hp and resistances.
